Wedding bells turn to sirens (Groom, father and best man arrested)
<snip>
"Nothing has ever occurred remotely close to what happened," said Renaissance General Manager Rick Gaede. "It is sad. It's one the happiest times of your life and you end up spending the first night of it in jail. No one knows what set him off."

Trouble began when a member of the wedding party said something and upset the groom, Ryan Waters, 23, of Westford, police said. By night's end, the groom, the groom's father and the best man were in jail and three officers were seeking treatment for minor injuries.

Waters, of 45 Flagg Road, Westford, was arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Also arrested were Nolyn Surprenant, 28, of 9 Casco Drive, Nashua N.H., who was charged with assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct and Leonard Waters, 56, of 45 Flagg Road, Westford, also arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.

"There was a disruption in which the groom and his best man were yelling at another party member who was trying to avoid a confrontation," a spokesman for the Bedford Police Department said. "The officer and the bartender intervened and escorted the party member out for safety. The best man and the best man's father than started yelling at the officer wishing to do battle with him. As a result of the threats the officer requested assistance and an altercation then took place. While placing the groom under arrest a number of people then attacked the officer making the arrest."

1. What, they didn't call out the Air Force
to bomb the hotel into submission? I thought that was SOP for weddings these days.
