Anyone here know of Pat Donohue?
Folk-singer and guitarist extraordinaire?

I love his tape "Manhattan to Memphis."

Saw him live in Upper MI once. :hi:

1. GREAT fingerpicker.
I'm not a big fan of his, in toto -- but I love the way he plays.

2. Hey, cool.
I wondered if you had heard of him.

That obscure album thread got me thinking.

Hard to find any fans of his out West. :hi:

3. He's part of the "Prarie Home Companion" house band.
The music is the only good part of that show -- you know, the part when Garrison Keillor shuts the fuck up.

4. That's right, he is --
I haven't listened much to that show, hardly ever really.

"Manhatten To Memphis" is a fun tape if you get a chance. . .
I also have & enjoy "Life Stories" and "Two-Hand Band".

I guess I have a soft spot for him 'cause I've been listening to him for
over half my life now! :P

6. Ha, ha!! You're what, 7-8 years my senior?
Uh, pretty much. . . :P

But I first heard him when I was 10 I think so that was over 11 years ago, I'm nearly 22 now. It is what I call my geek music and my comfort music.... No one has heard it, they all roll their eyes when I play it.

Except for this 30 year old guy I dated he and I had similar tastes in music :-)

Do you know of Greg Brown? He's a little more well-known, but the two have headlined together.

But I'm not a huge fan either.

10. I like louder music.
Quiet music has to be EXCEPTIONAL for me to really get all woodified over it.
