12. What's wrong with Davis resignation threads?
Don't you think it would be for the best? After all, it would bring the recall election to a screeching halt.

25. Sometimes you're engaged in a thread
and everything seems to be going along nicely. You're looking forward to the next few updates to the dialogue while browsing other topics.

Then suddenly, a flamewar breaks out in another segment of the thread, -even while your pleasant discussion is taking place.

It can be very annoying to see 10 updates, scurry over in hopes of reading good debate and find instead a lot of immature crap-flinging. Yes, one could just give up on the thead. Somehow it seems wrong to do that, and even more wrong to suggest that one should have to just to allow some poopy-heads free reign to poor behaviour.

27. That's true. It's interesting though...
I often read threads about "flame fests" which I must have overlooked or been oblivious to.

Occasionally someone will post a comment that personally sets me off, and I have to try to resist the urge to indulge my own poopy-head while suggesting that their comment could easily be interpreted as a "spark" for a storm of negativity.

At other times, I don't have the energy to deal with it; so I don't.

15. Most annoying to me
is any thread that has folks dividing themselves into two camps, chosing up sides and hurling juvenile invective and poorly reasoned argument back and forth ad infinitum.

But that never happens on DU.

38. the endless sympathy whores
People who vie for sympathy and 'love' every 2 or 3 days, not because something bad happened, but because they thrive on the attention.

They are often insecure about how others perceive them, and need constant approval.

An abusive background does that to a person I guess.

They often make up or exaggerate the details of why they need sympathy, because addictive personalities will do whatever is necessary to get it.

It does a great disservice to those who really did have something horrible happen, are truly deserving of sympathy, and it takes advantage of the good-will and poistive natures of many supportive and well-meaning DUers.

I loathe the sympathy-whores of DU.

45. The yak, thong and Ask Me Anything threads
There are a lot of threads I find annoying. The candidate bashing and Greens versus Dems threads in General Discussion drive me crazy so I ignore them. I also ignore the child free threads as well. I find it easier to ignore the stuff that really bothers me rather than posting a response.
