Well....there goes my summer classes.
After two weeks of participating in summer classes to boost my GPA, I have to cancel them. Apparently I'm not eligible for state grants anymore. The only form of payment I could give the college is a SELF Loan, which requires a cosigner. Since my mom and dad refuse to cosign for me, I have to drop the classes.

Now I have to work at some crappy-ass job for the rest of the summer. :grr:

1. We have seen a drop in summer enrollment
I work at a state university, and summer enrollment has dropped every year since * took office.

It's the economy, and the cutbacks. He hates education, and wants to destroy it.

I'm sorry! I teach summer school, so that bums me out to hear!

and ever since that asshole Pawlenty has taken office here in MN, the number of dollars people receive for state grants has dropped significantly.

4. The answer to your question is yes.
They like people being stupid. In fact, for them, it is essential.

Karl Rove: "When they start making money, people tend to vote Republican. That is, unless they're overeducated."

So there you have it.

5. UND has been suffering from record enrollment!
so much that the intro lectures are hard to get in to, seniors aren't getting into classes they need for graduation - stuff is a mess

Then again, ND may be unique. The high school graduation rate is sky high, the only requirement to GUARANTEE entrance is that you're a resident, and despite recent hikes tuition is still very low (we're the school most associated with bang for the buck)

2. When I was taking a class on VB, the instructor noted that
only a few years ago, the class would have been turning students away because there were only so many seats available.

This time around, the school had to scrounge up four people to get the minimum.

People are not able to afford it any more.

6. I'd guess it's more that it's a class on VB
which was big a few years ago, but since the bust has been waning. couple that with vb.net sucking harder than regual vb and there you go.
