Kind of like 110% sure, like giving 110% effort. Truly can't be done, but it's a way to hammer home a point.

27. People who aren't sure would be less likely to respond.
I think gay and straight society both have a problem with bisexuals. It presents a lot of complications. Also, everybody thinks bisexuals are just gays who want to have it both ways. So bi's are forced into choosing one side and sublimating the other. (Which is okay with me, since promiscuity can be deadly now).

39. You've uttered the unspeakable truth!
Monogamy itself would tremble at the thought of bisexuality. The bigotry of which you speak has many roots, and it's very real. Many gays (although it's unforgivable to say) are convinced of a "superior" choice, and think that those dabbling are obviously in denial. Lest we forget, there are plenty of man-hating dykes and gash-hating queens out there, along with the level headed folks who simply know what they want and accept it.

In all too many spheres of life, people define themselves by what they dislike than by what they like, and that's probably never going to change. The good news is that there are a lot of decent folks out there, and the nasties are self-defeating.

Then again, just as there are "good" aspects of bisexuality, there are also some not-so-pleasant ones: some folks just need to have everyone lust after them. (Sort of like this post: equal opportunity flame-bait.)

Bisexuality is real, programmed-in and as much a fact as either of the other two polarities. It's existence is seen as a threat to certain ideologues of both groups, and it's the gray area of life that terrifies so many in life; that's why there's religion. The narrow agendas of various groups always tyrannize those in the middle (or straddling the line) and this will be one of the future battlegrounds after homosexuality is more accepted.

With monogamy being one of the basic building-blocks of society, bisexuality is seen as a threat to many, and you can expect to see it be more of an issue in the future.

Remember the lessons of history: the oppressed, as soon as they gain a homeland of their own, start oppressing. The beat goes on, and there always seems to be a group to oppress, so it's all just variations on a theme.

56. Here's my thing...
I don't see bisexuality as a bad thing. PRACTICING bisexuality, on the other hand, however is another story. I have had feelings for both genders, but I've made my choice and I'm sticking with it. I very much believe in monogamy. Popping from flower to flower like a honeybee leaves behind wrecked families and a lot of hurt feelings.

I suppose it's a person's right if they want to be a promiscuous bisexual, but I don't really like it. Having desires and fantasies about both sexes is, IMO, perfectly normal, and not something to be ashamed of - it should be enjoyed in fact. Repression causes as much misery as promiscuity does.

I think that young people who aren't sure should experiment and enjoy themselves, and decide who they want to be with - there shouldn't be any guilt, but once the commitment is made, it should be kept.

But I would have a real problem with any sort of anal sex, the very notion of it grosses me out. That's why I decided to stick with women (one woman, actually)

I don't think there's anything wrong with getting off on homoeroticism. The sad thing is the people who do, but are full of shame about it. I'm 100% sure that it's the shame factor that makes people act out in inappropriate ways.

And of course we all know where shame comes from - - The Christian churches.

I am a male who is, physically, only attracted to females of the opposite gender. However, socially, my best friends tend to more often be gay men. I'm not the least physically interested in them, but they are just more interesting, socially, to talk with and seem, from my perspective, to make better friends that straight guys.

49.  I'm not 100% heterosexual
(but I guess I'm 100% sure of that, so is that a yes or a no, LynneSin?)

My entire real-world experience has been hetero.

But I occasionally have found myself attracted to women. Never acted on it -- though I'm not sure if it any of the situations would have been appropriate to act on, anyway. (I guess I'm separating the sex part of orientation from the relationship part of orientation -- I'm more specifically talking about sex. I can't really speculate about the relationship part, except to say I couldn't 100% rule it out...)

Perhaps that dreaded "bi-curious" label would apply (if it applies anywhere outside of personal ads, anyway).

59. I think a lot of straight girls who go after very gay guys...
"Fag hags", would-be "converters"... are really just afraid of going all the way (whether physically or emotionally) with a man, so they go after the unthreatening, unattainable pretty boy who doesn't mind hanging out with a woman all the time.

There are sensitive, kind straight men out there. Unfortunately, women tend to ignore them in favor of thuggish, brutish louts, and gays. Women are nutty!

while I was married to a bisexual man (who also had sex with one of the men). What does that make me? I'm not a "would-be converter" - I didn't want either of them to convert, I liked them just as they were. They were curious about sex with a woman, I found them attractive, a good time was had by all.
