1. The reviews are terrible
though I am surprised Ebert liked it.

2. The reviews have been averaging "B" or 2 1/2 stars
Predictably, the "hipper" the reviewer, the worse the review.

11. Ebert loves this kind of movie
I've been following Ebert for quite awhile. He loves a good arthouse flick and really knows what he talks about. But, unlike some reviewers, he can recognize just plain ol' entertainment and see the good in it. He's not afraid to give a movie a good review, even if it has no chance at an oscar.

12. Yep. Nothing but art gets boring.
Besides, there's a world of difference between a FUN action/adventure spectacle, and an annoying one (Star Wars Episode 1, The Mummy 2, etc.)

15. That is what I like about Ebert
He doesn't rate movies for their advancement of society. He understands an action flick and rates according to action flick rules not oscar contender.

It is refreshing when a critic will categorize the film before rating it rather than holding everything up to the latest oscar winner.

4. I gave-up on Hollywood putting out a good movie a while ago...
I have yet to regret saving my money. The Day After Tomorrow looks like another disaster-based film that would surely be a complete disaster if it weren't for some people that just have to see a movie regardless of what it is.
