4. My dog is cuter than my cats.

In fact, he's so cute he makes my teeth hurt. Is that really better than cats?

20. Thanks.
Somebody dumped him -- we adopted him from an animal shelter. He's kind of yappy, but otherwise great -- loves other dogs and people, and gets along okay with the cats. Gofigger.

13. Abbott looks like a cat we lost to feline leukemia.
His name was Chester. At one time he weighed 22lbs. Broke my heart when we lost him, He was my buddy. When i would go feed the deer he would ride along in the truck. Sure do miss him.

12. Any ideas on retrieving a gerbil from the heat/air duct?
Edited on Fri May-28-04 02:59 PM by tnlefty
The darn little shit fell into the duct yesterday morning and we're running out of ideas to try to coax him back so that we can hopefully get him out.

I'm thinking I'm going to have a VERY smelly house soon!

22. This is what I've done for my hamster
can you put something he can use to climb out of the air duct and then put a cage with some food (cage is opened) near the air duct.

I use to own hamsters and once in awhile they would get out. I would just put the cage with an open door in the middle of the living room and eventually they'd get hungry and return

24. We tried putting a long towel into the duct so that he could get traction
to climb out and we had the cage with the other gerbil sitting beside the opening, but no luck. We're fixing to go under the floor and take the ductwork apart to try to find him. With my luck he's run all over the place and won't be in that section.

minutes ago!!! The ductwork is back together and he is eating and seems to be okay.

21. ain't that the truth?
I suppose that a good portion of the folks here are urban apartment dwellers and that might be some sort of excuse for the obsession. But jeez people, you need to get out more!
I did start a reptile thread a few months ago that got some response, maybe I'll do it again.
And PLEASE keep your cats indoors!
