1. Last time I was on TV...
The entire station blew up. ;-)

(I was though on a Milwaukee news program, more than 25 years ago, when Bishop Tutu from South Africa gave a speech to my civics class.)

2. I was on Oprah.
back when Oprah was more like...say...sally jesse raphael...

the "topic" was "Men who date married women" ...I was in my mid-20's, and had been in several relationships with women who also happened to have husbands.
I was helping a friend move on a sunday afternoon, and she was buying me a drink...the tv in the bar was on channel 7, and during a commercial they had an announcement that the oprah winfrey show was looking for men who had or were dating married women- they gave a phone number, and there was a pay-phone right behind us...yadda yadda yadda, long story short- the next morning a limo picked me up at my suburban chicago home, and i was on my way to the station.

the funniest part is that i didn't tell anyone in my family, and my mother was in bed(this was when Oprah! was done live in chicago, at 9am)watching Oprah,, on the phone with my sister- who was also watching Oprah, when my face came on, with the caption "dates married women", and my mother did a spit-take, spraying her two dogs with her mouthful of coffee...
