Which presidents were/are musicians?
Edited on Sat May-29-04 09:12 PM by elperromagico
Clinton played sax, of course (he was in the band at my high school - just like me). Nixon and Truman were both piano players. Jefferson played violin, and I think Washington played violin and flute.

Kerry plays the guitar, as I think most of us know. But what other presidents played musical instruments?

Little known side-fact: Coolidge's VP, Charles Dawes, wrote the melody that later became the song "It's All In The Game," which was a big hit in the fifties.

1. Harry Truman....
played the Piano and there is a classic picture of him at the keys of an upright with Lauren Bacall sitting provocatively on top.

4. Those pictures caused a scandal at the time.
I don't see what's so bad about them myself. ;)

If a woman in a skirt sits on the piano while I'm playing, you'd better believe I'm going to take a peek at her!

11. Actually, Bush is a virtuoso musician...
He's played the media like a violin since 2000.
