2. Home of the newly wed and the early dead?
Yeah, I see your point, I dig Victoria too. But, Van-city has more good plays, musical sh9ows...etc... Plus the most Left wing governemtn in ..maybe the world (next to Cuba)

23. Yeah, Victoria is way nicer than Vancouver
They only get half the rain. Also, the downtown area isn't made up mostly of ugly apartment buildings with moss growing on them.

I lived in Victoris for three years in the early 80's, and I still miss it.

8. Vancouver how are you loved let us count the ways.
You never get icy cold.
You never get sticky hot.
There's always at least a breeze for sailing or windsurfing.
You have great places to go scuba diving.
You have a ski hill in Town.
You are only an hour away from the greatest ski mountain in the world.
You have Lionsgate bridge.
You have lots of cool stuff to do.
But most of all my friend your loved because your not part of America.

moof bashing wall again and again with various body parts chanting

why didn't we move there when 1991
why didn't we move there when 1991
why didn't we move there when 1991
why didn't we move there when 1991

9. Vancouver! Because it's so close to Seattle!

Actually, I think it's time we sang along a bit with the Smugglers. We haven't done that in a while:
"Rah, rah, sis boom bah! Well, I love Vancouver, Vancouver is my home town (Vancouver, BC, Vancouver BC)!"

And the Smugglers also had that great B-side called "Seattle Bound."

10. NY
NY is THE city to live in. Although I did end up in Cincinnati last year while taking a trip- what a great, wonderful and under-rated city. So that would get my 2nd choice.

No kidding. Lawrencetown Beach has a great curl (I'm told)... but definitely bring your wetsuit or risk MASSIVE shrinkage.

:hi:

12. All you Vancouver responders...
tell me more! Well, specifically, tell me how much it'd cost me to buy a nice apt./townhouse. I've heard raves about the city, I'm originally from the west coast (California, but won't go back, couldn't afford an outhouse in that state) and would LOVE to get back to the Pacific. But I haven't found much reliable info on housing...

17. Vancouver is insane
Very expensive...but if you want back on the Pacific check out Vancouver Island, Sechelt ...those places are cheap and in one of the most majestic settings in the world.

24. Move to Bellingham WA instead
Bellingham is almost midway between Vancouver and Seattle.., I think closer to Vancouver though. .I'd say lving in B'ham is the best of both worlds....it's a little campus town (W. WA U) but it is scenic, cozy, and still slightly affordable...

18. Portland, Oregon.
There's a reason I stay here. Big city amenities and culture. Walkable. Bikable. Decent mass transit. And I'm in the mountains or on the most beautiful coastal area in the states in an hour. It doesn't get any better than this.

As for Vancouver, it's a great city, too. Though I'd rate it third in the northwest, behind Seattle.
