1. Funny about Brosnan Bond movies
I think he is the best Bond but his movies have been pretty much bland.

I enjoyed the Dalton movies more.

2. Dalton was crap.
And Brosnan had great potential, but the James Bond franchise had already jumped the shark long before even he got near it.

Sean Connery was the One True Bond. All others are only bland imitations.

4. ah. A Bond purist...
I really don't have a passion for this "issue" so I won't discuss it further.

3. Brosnan has the potential to be the best Bond....
If he was given a script akin to "From Russia With Love" or "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", he would transcend even Connery. Alas, that won't happen, so we'll have to watch the same insipid tripe.

5. None, don't care for Brosnan's Bond
The last one I saw was especially bad, wih Halle Berry in it.

Looking forward to them getting a new Bond and hopefully, new producers and new writers.

7. Looking forward to never seeing a new Bond film again.
The franchise is dead, especially now that Desmond Llewelyn is gone*.

Here's a suggestion for Hollywood: The next time somebody thinks up an "idea" for another James Bond flick, make it into a Triple-X movie instead. You'll still get all the great explosions and chases, but you won't be further cheapening a once-great legacy. Besides, if Chronicles of Riddick turns out to be half as shitty as I'm expecting, Vin Diesel's going to need all the work he can get.

(*That's not to say that John Cleese isn't a great actor in his own right; he just doesn't fit the part. Same for Judi Dench.)

10. Good news: Brosnan was axed a few months ago... he's not the problem tho
Brosnan wanted more money apparently and EON Productions said no...

Actually, if the producers (EON) would cut the campy crap and provide taut, gripping stories with menacing villains and strong plots (ala On her majesty's secret service, the spy who loved me, for your eyes only, the living daylights, license to kill) then I might just watch another new Bond film. I'm tired of pointless stunts and silly dialogue. A funny line once in a while is okay, but the Brosnan era was like the Roger Moore era on crack. Incredibly unfunny and very vulgar at times too. "Cunning linguist" for example. :puke: Moneypenny also became Hornypenny during the Brosnan era... A Female M was okay though she was written all wrong. She often supported Bond and in the books and decent movies, M and Bond had a strained relationship at best...

6. Good political themes
I can't say I'm able to describe the plot of any of the Brosnan Bond films too well, but I do like the political issues they tackle. They're very liberal if you're paying attention. One deals with a media monopoly mogul who uses his media power to start a war, an obvious jab at Rupert Murdoch. One is about an oil pipeline being built through Asia. The last one dealt with the weapons in space issue and the threat of a rogue nation like North Korea getting a WMD; Dennis Kucinich should like that one. I'm impressed with all the contemporary issues they're taking on.

I do like Brosnan as Bond. Connery is great, but my favorite Bond films are not ones with him in it.
