Has anyone seen "The Devil's Backbone"/El Espinazo del Diablo?

This has to have been my favorite movie last year. It was VERY scary, very chilling
and moody and just totally awesome. It takes place in an orphanage during
the time of the Spanish Civil War.

It's an old-fashioned ghost story with plenty of thrills and weirdness.
If you have Quicktime, there's a good trailer at this site. Enjoy.

1. I liked it a lot.
My wife and I rented it a few months back, enjoyed it very much. It moves a little slow for some tastes but if you have the patience the story turns out quite rewarding.

2. Hmmm. . . I didn't find it slow at all.
People who found it slow need to consume less caffeine, IMO! :D

It was just the right pace to build the plot and atmosphere little by little,
really make you wonder what the heck was going on.

And it had those "jump 4 inches out of your seat moments", too.

:hi:

I've seen it. It's quite good, great atmosphere.

I saw it around the same time I saw a great Spanish movie called "Sex & Lucia" ("Lucia y el sexo") -- I don't know if you've seen it or not, but it absolutely AMAZING... very abstract, non-linear structure, but also very moving... I highly recommend that one if you get the time.

6. I had to kick the thread ... I think
I'm not getting enough attention today, you see :P

I haven't seen Lucia y el sexo, but I've heard of it and I will. Thanks and thanks
for telling me what you think.

Did you ever jump out of your seat? i know I did.

I actually couldn't get "Santi" out of my head for days. When the house was dark,
and I was walking around a corner, I honestly expected to see Santi appear a few paces ahead, or behind me! Isn't that silly? I love scary movies, but think I have too
much imagination . . . :eyes:
