Update on my health, my life <do I really have one??
Well as most of you know I have had some potentially serious health problems lately.

My last post will bring you up to date.

Anyhow, I got the results of my blood work-up and all is well. I had a complete workup, looking for Lupus etc. Nil, nothing, nada, so that is good.

Today, I went to the neurologist and had the VER (Visual Evoked Response) test to test my optic nerve etc. and the SSEP (Somatic Sensory Evoked Potentials) (They attach electrodes to your head and body and then the tech "shocks" you to see how your nervous system is responding. It really wasn't bad as all..just weird (my feet twitched for about a minute, then they do it again - 2 minutes each foot). Don't know results. Will find out scoop next week on EVERYTHING.

I am a litte dismayed right now bec I just wish I KNEW what is wrong with me. Today was a good day overall, I could walk fairly well, still a definite loss of equibrium, but the weakness in my legs seems better. So, I wait. And that's the worst...just waiting and wondering.

So thought I would just check in tell you folks that I am still alive and kicking <well kinda>.

I am supposed to go to the Dean Housparty tomorrow night, but I feel silly using a cane...but hell I may need it. Besides, it could come in handly if anyone gives me any crap. Yeah, I am feisty for a 5' 100 lb person!!

2. Good news, caledesi!
At least it's not any of those dreaded dis-eases!

I hope you are able to start feeling much better and this mysterious malady is in the past! :-)

6. Has anyone checked your inner ear for Muniere's syndrome?
Edited on Thu Aug-21-03 11:20 PM by nothingshocksmeanymo
Some of your symptoms i.e. vertigo could be a result of that..easily treateable with meds such as anti-vert.

9. I haven't been checked for meniere's, but remember
I had other symptoms than vertigo.

Pain in knees; numbness and weakness in lower limbs

Cranial MRI showed white matter abnormalities in brain that did not point to MS, but need further work-up.

Thanks for your help though.
