13. I Did Enjoy "Frell"
And I occasionally use it myself. (People just look at me with that blank expression of "huh" on their face.)

24. One of the underrated civil rights speeches of our times:
"I would like to direct this to the distinguished members of the panel. You lousy cork-suckers. You have violated my fargin' rights. This suminonbatching country was founded so that the liberties of common patriotic citizens, like me, could not be taken away by a bunch of fargin' ice holes, like yourselves"

14. See, I have a problem with that...
Edited on Thu Jun-03-04 09:22 PM by YellowRubberDuckie
People act like they've never heard those words before or even said them. Get pissed off or stub your toe and something not nice is going to come out of your mouth. I just think if you don't like it, turn it. I get so sick of people whining about cursing on tv. Don't ruin it for the rest of us just because they don't like hearing it.

21. Just my own view.
>>People act like they've never heard those words before or even said them. <<

That's not the issue, as far as I'm concerned. I hear all those words plenty around other people at work, and just about everywhere else. It would be nice to be able to watch TV without being subjected to it.

That's probably one of the main reasons I don't watch a great deal of TV, aside from reruns on TVland. I've been a regular watcher of "Everwood" on Monday nights, but even that show has its share of foul language.

23. Examples? They'd be too numerous to cite...
It seems that just about every TV show these days uses words like a**, a**hole, b**ch, pi**, etc. I've even heard the "s" word used once or twice, and as I said, I don't watch very much TV.

I don't think George Carlin's famous "list" is all that relevant any more. 10 or 15 years ago, you never used to hear that stuff.

12. I find it particularly amusing when a word
from another part of the movie is dubbed over the profanity. It rarely fits, and is almost always idiotic.

17. I had an English professor once who blamed
it all on William the Conqueror for Frenchifying the language. He used to say that piss, shit, fuck, etc. were all perfectly good Anglo-Saxon words and we all should use them whenever the fuck we felt like it.

20. Cheeses!
It bugs me too. I was rather taken aback while watching "Blazing Saddles" on some cable channel (not the premium channels). They allowed the word "twat" but bleeped "asshole". Pardon my French. :D

22. "Doesn't amount to a tinker's darn."
Joe Biden said that on TV recently.
I sent him an e-mail and told him it's OK to say "tinker's dam" on TV.
It's "dam", not "damn".

"Forget you" is said about 100 times.
