6. Tough one, but I had to agree
At least for now. :)

Really a toss-up for me among several (depending on my mood) -- WYWH is possibly the best one overall, but mainly because I like its bluesy feel -- Gilmour's guitar work on that album is among his best.

Dark Side is of course a classic and can't be dismissed -- too many memories of youth involved with that one.

Meddle is a great mood album -- "Echoes" is one of my favorites (ever play it as the soundtrack to 2001's "Jupiter and Beyond The Infinite" scene?).

Saucerful and Piper have their own endearing traits, and I have a soft spot for "Astronomy Domine" (I remember hearing that for the first time at a Laserium show at my hometown planetarium in the mid-70's).

Animals has a great sense of anger in it, and is possibly second behind WYWH for me.

And The Wall is of course impressively ambitious.

The other albums are simply good, too.

I noticed that Momentary Lapse of Reason and Division Bell weren't included. I liked those, mainly because it showed me that Roger Waters wasn't the key element of the band for me -- it was Gilmour. (not to take anything away from Waters...)

They were also the first rock concert I ever attended (12 years old I think -- Dark Side of the Moon from start to finish), so I have a bias.

8. It's just not Pink Floyd without Syd Barrett
It has been said about Floyd that their whole history has been the long running argument between the musicians and the architects. Syd was a musician-- untrained but inspired. Waters was the ringleader of the architects. Without him, Gilmour has redressed the balance again.

Jeepers, how could you possibly leave that out. What a great compilation!!!

Floyd without Barrett wasn't the same.

9. OOMA GOOMA, or something like that
A girl I knew in High School was obsessed with that album. She use to smoke marijuana flavored with strawberry. We became best friends. I learned to love that album.
