How many languages can you *sing* in?
Hi, folks! I'm back from the Pennsic War (it sucked this year), and getting over my tonsillitis. Once the patriotic Canadian beach balls at the back of my throat go away, I will once again be able to sing! Having said that, on my way down to Pennsic this year, I was asking my friend, who has contests with another friend about how many languages they can sing in, and she said 27. Me, I can only sing in these ones:

English (including Middle English and Broad Scots)
French (including Middle French)
German
Spanish
Italian
Latin (lots and lots of Latin)
Hungarian
Japanese
Swahili
Bantu
Welsh
Yiddish (I'm going to be adding Ladino and Hebrew soon)

Anyone with songs to share could link to PDFs of sheet music if they felt like it... ;-)

1. Much easier than speaking
as long as the language is clearly spelled out.

In my long years of being a choral singer, I have sung in French, German, Spanish, Italian, Latin, Quechua, Hungarian, Bulgarian, Serbo-Croatian, Russian, Latvian, Polish, Slovak, Norwegian, Japanese, Chinese, Zulu, Yiddish, Hebrew, and the most recent addition was Albanian.

I can sing well in english, Italian, Latin, Spanish and French..... somewhat acceptably in German, Hebrew, Russian, and Ukrainian. I am kind of tongue tied in Welsh and just starting to learn one piece in Dutch.

15 points if you can guess the Dutch piece....clue, it is not classical.
