I am curious
I have been a lurker for a few months. Posted a few times.

I have seen people saying they are considering moving out of the US if bush wins in '04.

so my question is who is considering (seriously considering) moving out of the US if a democrat doesn't take the White House in '04?

(btw- my husband and I are in the beginning talking phase on this, looked at Mexican, New Zealand and Australian real estate online tonight - Unfortunately, it is hard to think outside the box on this since we were raised in this totally egocentric country that believes America is the only place to live, it is a difficult decision to make also because we have 3 kids. However, i can't imagine wanting to stay here if that happens.)

3. I guess I can understand
the temptation to flee the US if Shrub wins in 2004. However, putting any degree of thought in this, I feel this is absurd (personally speaking). Should those of us that actually give a damn about this country leave because of the ignorance of those that may vote for that fool? I say hell no, my voice will just get louder if moron wins, I won't pack my bags and stomp off to another country.

4. Government job...I'm stuck.
...until 2016, that is! Then, I'm probably off to Costa Rica, regardless of the political climate here in the U.S.

8. If I could get a gig elsewhere, I would take it,
regardless of who's elected. We'll just have to see. I need to know that my children can express themselves freely and be the people they are instead of the people the government tells them to be.

I'd only be torn because I'm a fighter (in the figurative sense), and I don't want to hand my country over to a bunch of stupid thugs.
