From Usenet: RWer's proof of a liberal media
I've come up with a wonderful new argument whenever someone claims the media is liberal. I simply ask for proof.

I've been doing this on Usenet for a couple of weeks. So far, two of the three people have killfiled me (put me on ignore, for those who don't hang out on Usenet). The third, after multiple requests for evidence over the course of several days, finally spewed out this list. For your edification and amusement, proof of the liberal bias in media (note the misspellings, this is verbatim):

The media's reluctance to report on Clinton's scandle-filled administration.

The media's insistance on fabricating Bush scandals.

Compare: Matthew Sheppard and the gay "hate crime" in Arkansas.

Compare: Abortion v pro-life story coverage.

Dan Rather's inability to hide his contempt for George Bush (election 2000, 9-11, the recent blackout, etc).

Look up: Dowdification

Compare: The treatment of Charles Heston and the liberal of your choice on the Today Show.

John Carroll, editor of the Los Angeles Times's, memo warning reporters to keep their liberal politics out of the news page.

And on and on it goes....

I've responded, after I stopped laughing, but I'll be happy to forward any comments.

7. Right-O
Because haircuts are important.

Marital infidelities are important.

But lying to the American public about weapons of mass destruction and getting the young men and women of this nation's military involved in war with fabricated and plagiarised evidence, - that's not important.

3. Please do forward the comments!
The first rule in my classes for news reporting is to not put your oppinion in the news unless it is editoral! As for the " Clinton's scandle-filled administration" was it just me or was that all that was on for the most part of the news? How much sex scadle stuff do freepers need?

8. yup
That's what we're up against.

I should save this and post it in response to every person who thinks we should let freepers in here to "debate and educate" them.

9. Oh, Yeah!! They REALLY put that BJ story in the back pages, didn't they??
Edited on Sat Aug-23-03 02:07 AM by northwest
They'd only spend like 10 seconds of time for that story on the news broadcasts, didn't they?? /sarcasm off/

Yeah, I was only bombarded with that blue dress stain and discussions on adultery and those lame late-night jokes and that stupid deposition 24 hours a day seven days a week on every other cable channel for TWO AND A HALF FREAKIN YEARS!!!!!

10. Yeah, well...
been dealing with that crap for years on usenet. I don't have the time to argue with them any more and pretty much post only to the apolitical froups now, although my favorite "apolitical" froup became a haven for rightwingnuts.

It's alway "Cite! Cite!" and when you give 'em a cite, it's still not good enough.
