Darwin Award, that is:

Called the "MSN iLoo", naturally.

Now, picture this: It's July 4 at your state's Indepedence Day celebration (ala the Taste of Minnesota). It's 90 degrees out and humid. You go into the loo and sit there for 4 hours pissing away your time on the internet. You'll end up being carted off to the ER due to dehydration, coma, and/or death. :eyes:

Of course, they'll probably have a second module outsite of it so people waiting to use what's inside can keep busy. So you're in the queue diddling on the computer, the person in finally finishes and leaves, and somebody cuts in front of you! Is this more Microsoft Productivity(tm)? :eyes:

If you want REAL innovation, you'd put a bloody air conditioner in the portable toilet for crying out loud!!!!! I ought to patent that straight away...

1. Yeah, I remember when this first came out.
They dumped the idea a couple days after it hit the press. Rather funny, IMO...

A pity they dumped it, no pun intended... One interesting point though...
Gates will do anything to get more money.

It's interesting it was launched in the UK. Not in the US. And it deserves to be in the US, the rest of the country's obviously gone to the toilet and doesn't want to get back out of it... :-(

2. That is insane!
Why would they want to put an internet terminal in a porta-potty? Why don't they(Microsoft)spend their money on more useful things, like making more sound operating systems and software!

8. Even so...
... I was in a Portland hotel a couple of years ago, one which billed itself as a high-tech business conference center, and when one sat down on the toilet in one's room, there was a telephone a foot away.

Someone's really idiotic notion of multi-tasking, I fear.

12. Also..
..I also just stayed in a hotel with phone in john. I think it's quite common.

That way you won't drop your cell phone in the toilet. :)

Is there any time, any place, Americans won't use the phone?

9. Darwin Awards are for people who, by manner of death…
improve upon the overall gene pool.

11. Oh, I thought it was the other way around!
I've read jokes about people doing dumb things and as a result they get a "Darwin award"...

Oh well.

If Microsoft went out of business, its "death", it would improve upon the rest of society... does it still count then? Probably not, the buggers are still in business. :-(
