USAToday: 3.5/4 Stars for Fahrenheit 9/11 (post other reviews you find)
http://www.usatoday.com/life/movies/reviews/2004-06-23-fahrenheit_x.htm
Put politics aside: 'Fahrenheit 9/11' will entertain

Fahrenheit 9/11 (* * * ½ out of four) is everything you've heard. It also is some things you haven't heard, which is what makes it worth watching.

Of course, its strong point of view in an increasingly polarized nation will draw both ardent support and virulent opposition. But no moviegoer will be bored. The documentary's scathing attack on the war in Iraq and George W. Bush's presidency is informative, provocative, frightening, compelling, funny, manipulative and, most of all, entertaining.

Much of what filmmaker Michael Moore focuses on has been covered in news reports, magazine articles and books. But because he still manages to present new data and little-seen footage, connecting the dots in a cogent and persuasive way, Fahrenheit 9/11 is the year's must-see film.

1. Head over to Rotten Tomatoes
They usually have a good representation of what reviews are out there:

3. I find it ironic that not one rotton tomato was with a Mainstream paper
Edited on Wed Jun-23-04 07:16 AM by LynneSin
David Poland of Hot Button?
Michael Elliot of Movie Parable? (Checked their website: It's a fundie review of movies)
Sean Burns of Philadelphia Weekly?
Scott Nash of Three Movie Buffs? (Their website: 3 brothers who watch & review movies - a personal website)
Todd McCarthy of Variety
Lou Loumanick of the New York Post (Robert Murdoch's Rag btw)
Kirk Honeycutt of Hollywood Reporter

So 2 entertainment magazines panned it, one newspaper owned by the ultimate neo-conservative fundie and 4 totally unknown sites have panned the movie on Rotton Tomatoes.

Positive Reviews include:
New York Time, BBC, Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Ebert & Roeper, Washington Post, Rolling Stones, Village Voice, Time Magazine

Folks, we've got an Oscar Winner in this film!!!

8. David Poland of Hot Button
This guy's movie reviews are horrible, even when he's correct. His writing makes War and Peace seem like the height of concision. I run out of mental breath trying to read them. And he often comments on issues raised in a movie about which he is obviously and painfully ignorant. He comes across as rather arrogant on that score.

"Hot Button" is his personal movie review site, which is associated with Movie City News. He apparently has "film journalist" credentials and has appeared with Roger Ebert on his show.

I think he has some sort of history with Michael Moore, to which he obliquely refers in the review of F-9/11. He claims he doesn't have to explain this to us, but he does need to explain it to himself, so he'll explain it to us, but then he really doesn't. He just writes 200 word sentences and calls it good.

2. The "year's must-see film."

Even my dad who hates going to movies wants to get off his butt and go to it. This thing is going to be a hit, I think. With reviews like that from USA Today (!).....

BUSH IS IN TROUBLE!!!

4. Newsday gave it * * * 1/2 stars
Edited on Wed Jun-23-04 07:33 AM by Magic Rat
Which is odd, considering the reviewer spent more time talking about what was wrong with Michael Moore and the movie than he did in what was right about it.

6. yeah but even then..they gave it * * 1/2 stars
Which is between fair and good.

Not too bad for the post. That reviewer also gave Bowling for Columbine four stars.
