MTV is a classic monopoly.

I think they must go out of their way to hire the most stupid fucking people they can find.

Then they promote it like it's actually hip and cool.

It's just dreadful. Remember that show "Singled Out?" That must go down as the STUPIDEST and most insulting show ever to be on television (and that's saying something).

If MTV had any competition they'd be long long gone.

and thier socially conscious specials. Other than that the music aspect sucks, but panders to the current audience.

Jackass and Tom Green may be dumb, but every has to kick back. And, given the choice between a sitcom or Jackass, I'd usually choose the latter.

MTV does has competition in Much Music.

edit: Wasn't it on an MTV special where Clinton said he doesn't inhale? I know when I first heard that I was like... whoa, this guy rocks. Took me a few years to look into the policies though.
