How would that make you feel?

Dozens of protesters watched, furious and helpless, from behind the locked glass doors of the courthouse.

Many have been camping on the courthouse steps, wearing their beliefs on their backs, with T-shirts reading "Jesus is the Standard" and "Satan is a Nerd."

As the workers readied the monument, a preacher belted out, "Pray the wheels crumble!"

After they did not, protesters started screaming: "Bring the monument back! Bring the monument back!"

That is, Phil the Prince of Insufficient Light in Dilbert. The one who looks sort of devil-like, but wields a giant spoon instead of a fork. And he darns people to heck.

They obviously didnt have enough faith and this was their punishment. If they had had sufficient faith God would have certainly struck a plague down upon the vile executors of wickedness.

Their religion is not Christianity. It's rockism. They believe that Roy's rock is sacred. The twisted irony of the whole thing is that Roy's rock is a graven image, which they're told they must not bow down to. And there they are, for all the world to see, flat on their faces weeping over the removal of the golden calf.
