2. Great googly moogly...
<snip
It could be replaced, she suggested, with a marble display of the Bill of Rights or the Constitution, or a "few choice law-abiding phrases such as ... thou shall not steal ... thou shall not kill ...thou shall not covet thy neighbor's wife ..." snip>

Since when is "coveting" against the law? I mean, it may not be nice, but it's not illegal.

5. Penn State University is in big trouble. They've had a
brass statue of a Nitnay lion for decades on the main campus. No one up north ever thought it was a pagan symbol. Would that make football a pagan ritual????

12. If coveting becomes a felony, conservatives are doomed.
Nah, not really, everybody knows conservatives are above the law.

7. Ah, yes
and I guess that anything that isn't her brand of right-wing intolerant Christianity should be thrown out the window, too. Wonder if she's in favor of incarcerating witches like they did in Salem? If a fellow named Jesus showed up at her church and preached, he'd be thrown out as a heathen, I'm sure!

10. Stupidy....Obvious religious symbol vs. inferred symbol.
Fundies are so transparent.

Sometimes a statue of a cat is statue of a cat and sometimes it's an idol.

A statue of the 10 commandments is ALWAYS a religious symbol.

13. I didn't think there was anyone alive that stupid.
Except Ashcroft, of course.

Those evil cats! Why stop at the statue? Kill all of em-they are the devil's cohorts!

Listen, chick, I don't know one pagan who "worships" panthers. Now a bottle of mead, well, that is quite a different story.

14. Reminds me of the Dark Ages
when they decided that cats were the familiars of witches. It took them right into a campaign to wipe out cats, thereby drastically increasing the rat population and increasing the bubonic plague.

What is it about cats that gets some folks to thinking about the devil anyway?
