Just watched the 100 yr Harley Davidson Parade
I must admit I wasn't looking forward to 300,000 bikers taking over my town, and the news coverage has been patheticly overblown, but this morning I walked the one block from my house with a bunch of friends and our kids and sat down and watched over 10,000 bikes drive past in the parade.

WOW! :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow:

Yes, even with all the H-D Hype and marketing of the rebel image to rich yuppies so they can pretend they are bikers, it was still pretty DAMN impressive. 2 Hours worth of bikes riding by, flags from all over the world, totally cool, and loud.

It was worth seeing. and it is great for our local economy, and there's that Made-in-Milwaukee Pride thing too.

But yes, I'm truly glad it's almost over and will quiet down a bit.

1. I despise loud motorcycles
I fucking hate them.

I wish we had noise pollution laws.

Go ahead and flame me.

2. Uhm, why should I flame you for having an opinion?
You're welcome to it.

I prefer they NOT be so damn loud, but today it was cool...

4. RE: noise level
actually, the noise level is quite useful for truckers on I94...what they normally can't see, they can hear.

Of course, that means dick if the goomba-biker isin't wearing a godamned HELMET...which most of them don't. Hey, I grew up in Riverwest. I knew a few of those guys, right around Pulaski, Brady and Humboldt. And in my line of work, we have a name for guys like this: DONOR.

3. This one's quiet
It only gets a bit noisy when it passes a Harley at 180 mph, but the noise is gone in a flash. :-)
