I'm experimenting with the Opera internet browser...
I started using version 7.11 a few days ago and I have to say I like it. It's a relatively small application, seems to work well, and it's not part of the Microsoft Monopoly. Plus it allows you to reject pop-up ads with the simple click of a button without having to disable active scripting as in MS IE.

Anyone else here used Opera? How do you like it? Have you encountered any troubles with it?

1. I have used it, but not the latest...
...it seemed to crash a lot. And java wasn't part of the bundle (you had to download an additional app)

3. The version I have allows you to select between a java and non-java
version. The java version includes java so you don't have to download separately.

9. Check out Konqueror
it is pretty good too. I use it on linux and OSX. Love it. Opera is a fine browser. I also like Mozilla Firebird.

One plus for Mozilla is composer. It is powerful and easy to use.

4. I'm using it now. It's my main browser.
Has been for a couple of years.

Overall I like it, especially the fact that all the browser windows are in one app, and don't clutter my task bar.

The main problem I've found with it is that it seems to have problems with Java-enabled pages. I almost never get them to work right in Opera, and have to resort to IE to navigate a couple of important work-related sites.

But overall, I think I'll stick with it.

5. i use opera and mozila
i use opera for downloading files because sometimes mozilla goes crazy and downloads alot of the same file...opera has really cool looking skins and they are really easy to preview and apply...i use the regular mozilla and the newer firebird edition..anything but microsoft...

7. I've been using it for years
Ever since Version ... I don't remember. Except that I paid for it -- something nominal -- and there wasn't an advertising-supported version.

I like it lots 'n' lots.

8. Been using it since Version 3
It's my primary browser, although I use Mozilla occasionally, and Netscrap on the one or two secure sites that don't accept anything else.

7.11 got rid of the bugs in the older versions and gave us new goodies that I still haven't fully figured out. I love the keyboard shortcuts and tabbed windows everyone else caught onto too late. Found a neat skin for it, too.

I'm not too thrilled with the newsreader, but the mail client would be almost perfect if it had a spellchecker.

Once in a while, though, it blows some Java code and I have to use Mozilla.
