Anyone know what I can do now that I've passed the Sprachpraxispruefung?
Actually I passed it in August of 2001, but the results got lost in the mail, and I was too nervous to Email the people back in Germany about the results. It also kind of slipped my mind. Finally I got up the nerve last week to send an Email. I passed and a new copy of the certification is on its way. Is anyone familiar with what kind of work this might be helpful in getting?

9. Write "The Love Song of J. Alfred Sprachpraxispruefung"?
Sorry, that wasn't helpful, but maybe kicking the thread will get you more useful replies. Would it help you get work as an English-German translator? Just guessing.

you can spell "Sprachpraxispruefung"
bet you can say it right, too.

Seriously, congratulations, but I have no idea what you can do with it? Didn't anyone tell you what passing it would do for you before you took it?

18. It was in Germany that I took it.
They told me that if any company in Germany was hiring me that the certificate would prove beyond all doubt that I have enough knowledge of the language so that I would fit right in. Some of the people that took it with me were preparing for careers with German newspapers as foreign correspondents. I took the test because they told me that I already had the qualifying requirements done and it didn't cost anything. I wasn't concerned with applicability.

I am kind of wondering if it would have any use in America, as far as getting into a Graduate Program along with the B.A. I have in German.
