"In a related story: Jesus has quit."

Stephen Colbert on This Week in God.

After the Falwell/Jesse Jackson two-shot...Falwell says: "I believe we should pursue them to the ends of the earth, an kill 'em...in the name of the Lord".

Jackson just blinks.

1. "...in the name of the Lord."
:)

It's funny, until you realize he's serious.

You're right, he said "in the name of Christ" at the end. Didn't he?

7. He said "in the name of the Lord"
These guys are two sides of teh same coin- literally. Does Falwell know that the enemy believes in the same Lord as he does?

8. That's right...yeah...
Of course, you made a great point. Falwell is a spiritual midget. He is beyond clueless. I can't even begin to plumb the depths of his darkness. Sheesh.

15. Touchdown Jesus Fired

Kevin White, the Notre Dame athletic director, said, "At the end of the day, we've really got to do a good job on Saturday."

"From Sunday through Friday our football program has exceeded all expectations, in every way," White said. "But on Saturday, we struggled."

"Currently we're looking at potential replacements from Buddha to Beelzebub. Someone not so 'hung up' on Sundays."

16. Correction" I watched the rerun. Falwell said
something more along the lines of:

"We need to chase the terrorists to the ends of the Earth, and blow them up in the name of the Lord."

He's so much better at Falwelling than I am.
