Poll question: Who was the better band: Alice in Chains or Soundgarden?

1. Which is the better fruit: apples or oranges?
C'mon, AiC and Soundgarden are apples and oranges, my friend, apples and oranges...

3. No comparison
Soundgarden was one of the best bands in the 90s

Kim Thail and Ben Sheppard RULE Jerry Cantrell and Mike Starr in technique and style. Chris Cornell's vocals are still solidly better than Layne Staley's ever were and AIC relyed more on harmonies than a strong front voice, anyhow.

Soundgarden. More influencial and all around better than Alice in Chains on any day.

p.s.

Your favorite band sucks.

6. I'm not sure about Soundgarden being more influential
I hear a lot of bands biting AIC's style. I don't hear so many mimicking SG.

9. Good point.
AIC did write more acheivable and accessible music. Their sound is applicable to a wider array of style, Soundgarden was intensely unique and may not have had the same footprint, so to speak, that AIC may have had on the market.

10. Because SG was so far ahead of the times, we have not
caught up yet?

Just a theory.

5. I love Soundgarden, but I'm going with AiC on this one..
they are one of the most under rated bands on the 90's.

I was so sad when I Layne died, and it was completely over shadowed by Left Eye of TLC's death, it was more tragic, but they only talked about Layne's death for one day and then I never heard anything about it again.

About half of what Soundgarden did.
