7. Hey Kathy, this is OT.
Are there any jobs in Cambridge? I'm just wondering if the job market is as tight there as it is here in Colorado. I've been thinking of moving to a blue state. Mass. would be ideal because I'm a huge Red Sox fan but I've heard cost of living is really high. All of my best friends have been from Boston but they don't seem to like Colorado so they never stay. :(

10. The job market is very tight, but what do you do for work?
I'll keep my ear to the ground.

Boston is gorgeous. Mass. is a great place to live. The rents have come down a bit but they're still wicked high compared to almost every area of the country except NYC and San Fran.

11. Unix system administration.
Although I'd like to get out of that field and be a writer. Screenplays to be exact. I wrote one but I haven't really figured out how to try to market it or shop it around. It's tricky.

12. There are some tech jobs-check out the local universities
Northeastern University, Boston University, and Harvard employ lots of people. They have great benefits-like four day work weeks in the Summer. You may have to branch out and do other things in addition to Unix admin. Most techies these days have to be proficient in many things to keep their jobs. :-(

15. Yeah I know.
That is the truth!

Fortunately I'm pretty well rounded, networking, hardware, NT, linux, Sun...the list goes on.

I just wished I liked doing it as much as screenwriting. Screenwriting makes me want to get up in the morning and feel passionate about life. The tech stuff makes me think...wtf am I doing on this planet anyway?

Why is it the thing your passionate about has to be the most difficult to achieve?

Actually the office will indeed be hosting a pizza luncheon at the more civilized hour of noon HST. And no we do not (as a rule) put pineapple on our pizza so stop saying that! :-)
