Do you have a "right-wing" personal philosophy?
I have this notion in my head that you should be left-wing with others, but right-wing with yourself. By this I mean, since you know your situation, and can evaluate any excuses you might have for not taking action on this or that thing, you should be firm with yourself about being independant and taking initiative; it's pretty much a right-wing ideal, and I actually respect and admire it when it's applied fairly. But I don't have the right to do that to anyone else unless I know their situation, so it would be unfair of me to say "they should just do _____" as an excuse to not extend help to people.

But maybe I just call it "right-wing" as part of being taken in by the right-wing's self-proclaimed monopoly on initiative.

3. I'm tight with cash and anti gun control

Of course being tight with cash doesn't mean you can't help the poor and have government healthcare.

We should do what the swiss do with their military. Mandatory military reserves, train every male to ues guns. They have one of the lowest crime rates in the world too! Crime has to do with attitude, not the gun itself. If you ban all guns, people will kill each other with knives. Then when you ban knives, they will use baseball bats. Then when you ban baseball bats, they will use their fists.

4. the right-wing philosophy is based on
showing others your big swinging dick and use force before brains.. It's based on self-righteousness. It needs others because it needs others to fear. i don't think it works for anything, but that's me.

5. It's not really a right-wing philosophy to practice self-management.

6. personal responsibility
is a way of life with me, but I don't think that makes it "right wing" necessarily. I have seen exactly the opposite from their camp of late.

7. I find right-wing "philosophy", such as it is,
Edited on Wed Dec-08-04 12:03 AM by Boswells_Johnson
is focused on the self. It puts a bottom line on everything and everyone, and places little worth on...well, it has no humanity. It's about accumulation, not compassion and consideration.

It's faulty because capitalism must have an economic class to subvert-to keep poor-and it is illogical to not take care of the them. An unhappy "servant" class will not remain subserviant. It's history, it's the bread and circus.

That's what I find idiotic about right-wing thought. History documents human nature, and in the end, people will rise up against abuse when it becomes too great.
