THAI KITCHEN brand - the container is a LIE!
Poor me.

I've spent almost 20 years working in an area surrounded by dozens of independently owned little restaurants and cafes. My new job has me working in a more desolate area with no restaurants so I have to learn to BRING MY LUNCH TO WORK!

I bought a package of THAI KITCHEN "instant" noodles. The container makes it look lunch sized, but in fact it's a piddley little amount of food.

And the cooking instructions are insane - you're supposed to fill the container with boiling water, then put the lid (with holes) back on and use the lid as a colander! Good luck not scalding your fingertips off.

Thai Kitchen is a lie!

2. The cooking products might be okay - but I'll be overpriced
I'm lucky enough to be in a city with plenty of ethnic restaurants, so I keep buying coconut milk and fish sauce in containers with barely a word in English on them.

But my favorite is COCK brand fish sauce. Y'know, like rooster.

6. That's Better Than The "Ass In The Bucket" Hot Sauce....
...I found in a farm market here in Colorado a few years ago. We gave it to my then son-in-law, who was from Peru and said he liked spicy food. From what my daughter told me, he tried it once and that was it....

:-)

5. I MUST get some of that!
Cock fish sauce! Love it!

And about the Thai Kitchen stuff... the noodle bowls taste like ass... waste of money.

7. when was the last time you _actually_ cooked?

I mean, chopping veggies, frying pan, throwing a steak, etc. _real_ cooking? :wtf:

8. Pretty much daily, though my spouse does more of it.
But sometimes it's just not convenient to cook something for work, and sometimes there aren't leftovers.

9. They have a few varieties of ramen-noodle type soups...
made with rice noodles, which have been a godsend for us. My daughter has celiac disease and almost all of the Thai Kitchen products are gluten-free.

Empty in a bowl, add water and the flavour packets, and microwave for 2 minutes.
