I've done a lot of kits, but this one was with plums from my backyard.

3. It seems a little stronger than the kits.
I've never measured alcohol content, though.

Sorry, I'm a dumb Soviet Canuckistani. What is this "Mad Dog" you speak of?

10. Yes, but does it taste better than Boone's Farm?
There's the test.

2. Congrats
when I was a kid, my Dad made wine out of just about anything - even tried onions once (not too bad, actually). His plum wine was incredibly good. Now I want some!! :hi:

5. Apparently you can make wine out of just about anything.
I even read that it can be done with, uh, a couple of bodily fluids. Thankfully the author of that website didn't go further than naming them. Eesh.

8. I used a nylon strainer I bought from the u-brew shop.
I think I used cheesecloth for the grape wine I'm currently waiting on.

You're talking about the early stages, right?

9. Cheesecloth Should be used in the f 2 stages after the strainer.
I cannot remember using a strainer except for the initial stage. I made a fantastic apricot wine.

11. Let me know if you have any web references or recipes.
I'd like to try an apricot wine, but I don't think they grow on Vancouver Island. My backyard has apples, pears, plums and grapes. (Thanks, guy who lived here before we did!)

12. Really?
I'm ready to bottle my cherry wine next Sunday; I made it from this kit:

How long was the process from beginning to end?

14. I started August 2, so a little over 4 months.
Plus the aging taking place in the bottles right now. :)
