Who's the best team in college hoops?
I've got to go with the Tar Heels. I admit I'm biased - Class of '74- but I will stack the threesome of McCants, Felton, and May up against any other three in the country. With Roy Williams calling the shots, and a murderous ACC regular season to toughen them up, I see Carolina making it to the Big Dance.

1. only if Roy
Gets "the triplets" to play some old fashioned Big 12 Defense. As much as I love to watch them play, I don't think they have the discipline for it.

2. No way, man.
I'm going with Kansas. Mostly because the Tar Heels have Roy Williams. Look at his record, he chokes in the big game. They'll never win the national championship with him there. Get to the final four, yes, actually win? Nope!

BTW--KU Grad '03

6. I'll take Kansas a little more seriously
once they play an away game - and win it.

Or when they take on a real team.

Nothing personal or anything, but I don't think much of Self as a coach. He's good, but not great from my experience rooting for him when he was with Illinois. He always seems to sputter in March.

On edit:
I'll admit, I was pretty miffed when it first happened, but I really do like the way Self has coached thus far. Perhaps it's too early to tell. Nah, we'll see you in March!!

3. Well, it looks like it is not my school - UConn
I thought we had a shot a few months back, then the Price kid goes down hurt and we lose to UMass. How embarrassing to lose to UMass.

This CT boy hates the Huskies!

Let's go Syracuse!! Hey, we may have one loss so far but at least the O-Men lost to a good team.

5. No one can touch Illinois right now
I also am biased being an alum and being the former botany lab partner of Roger Powell - but still.

I haven't seen a team playing with that much speed and accuracy for a long time. And they were beating Wake Forest by about 30 points for most of the game when they beat them.

12. I gotta go with Illinois too
The game against Wake Forest really showed what they could do. It's nice to see a TEAM playing too, instead of a couple hot shots trying show off.

7. The Illini
Edited on Fri Dec-17-04 12:44 PM by XNASA
I watched a couple of Illinois games this year and I haven't seen a college team play as well as them in years.

Guess the operative word is "team". And they're deep too.

UK Wildcats that is...though they are pretty young this year, but Shagari Alleyne has improved immensly this year! Should be a good year for us. We'll see you in the finals!

18. The Cowboys are really good
They showed my Orangemen a thing or two a couple of weeks ago. But the 'Cuse will still be tough come March and so will OSU!
