a walkman that you plug into your computer so you can move music from your computer to the iPOD and walk around with it and listen to music.

I just bought a CD walkman for $9.99 the other day. Saved me $300 and all the time it would take me to transfer all of my CD's to MP3's and then to the iPOD ...

I'm such a ludite.

Besides, I'm having too much fun with my new cassette deck. Ever seen one of those? Cool! The tapes are a LOT smaller than 8-tracks!

30. Don't forget, your DVDs will soon be obsolete too!
They are working on 2 new formats (Remember Beta anyone?) for HDTV.

Also, remember that Mikey Powell is going to force you to fork out a couple thousand for a new TV in a couple years!

20. Yes, and I absolutely love it.
I've got the 20GB one. I'm a musician as well as a designer so not only can I use it to quickly get recordings that I've done into a format that I can listen to in the car or when I'm walking around town, it also is an external hard drive that I can use to tote around huge graphic files to client meetings and such... it has greatly simplified my life.

No more burning CDs that end up lost or scratched up. I have pretty much my entire CD music collection on the thing. I'm now in the process of digitizing my favorite vinyl records to get on there as well.

24. I'm hearing impaired
and need to have my music LOUD in my headphones to enjoy it. This upsets busdrivers and fellow passengers. So I gave up listening to music-on-the-go years ago. I can wait until I get home and can turn up the music as loud as I want on my home stereo.

I like my PDA. I can put on what I want, when I want, and don't get lost in a 20GB hard drive full of songs.

I like the playlist ability, and it coincides well with iTunes, which I go to sometimes (I'd go there more if they offered $.49 songs.) There are also neat extras like games, a calendar, and alarm. My watch alarms are about impossible for me to hear unless I happen to be tilted towards the watch.

So I'll be adding to the iPod total. :-)

I don't believe in being plugged in when walking around - and especially not when biking. I prefer to be aware of my surroundings. But they're nice to have when outside lazin' in the rays. Or killing time in an airport. I'll wait until the temps warm up come Spring. And perhaps the price will drop again by then. Until then, I still have my $10 walkman and mixer tapes.

Ripped all our CDs to the hard drive, and loaded them on the iPod.

It's great when on the road. I hardly ever listen to regular FM stations in the car anymore -- by combining the iPod with an iTrip FM transmitter, I get to listen to what I want to over the radio.
