My bf just called the police on drunk driver
Guy is stuck in a ditch from missing the turn. Too drunk to walk. Hung up on by the state police. County police said "we'll get to it when we get to it." The guy was prepared to continue driving as soon as he gets his car out. In fact, he said the police were there and put the flares up.

1. I did this kind of thing once too.
I was at an intersection, and noticed there was a car right across from me facing me in the intersection! It turned left, but I went to a pay phone (this was pre-cell phones) and called the police.

3. Too bad the guy will probably be gone by the time the police get there
Said they were dealing with a shooting. WTF? We don't have enough police to cover more than one emergency.

5. Hopefully, if the drunk gets away, he won't kill someone with his car !
Sometimes you can only do so much.

4. That's crazy
Perhaps that's a result of *'s lack of funding to first responders - there aren't enough cops to take care of things like that? If it's true they were there and put up flares, though, that's fucked up.

My hubby and I once saw a guy who was so obviously drunk - it was on a stretch of road that's dangerous anyway. Four lane highway over the mountains, curvy, etc. There was a lot of traffic, too. This idiot was weaving around, almost hit us, pulled in front and jammed on the brakes as if we'd done something wrong, then dove back in and we could see him ahead of us up the hill for about a mile, weaving in and out.

I was trying to get a signal on my cell and we came around the next bend to see a three car accident. :nuke: Luckily, it looked like there was only minor damage to all of them (including the drunk asshole) and he tried to pull out and run!!

Some guy in a pickup jumped back into his truck and ran him off the road - no damage to his car but it stopped him. Everyone was beeping and applauding at the guy in the pickup but knowing how things work, HE probably got a ticket for reckless driving!

I don't have any sympathy for drunk drivers.

9. cool...
a pick-up truck? Stupid redneck, probably voted for Bush while driving that guy off the road.

(joking, my attempt to laugh at all the comments that include the mention of bush or conservatives, even when the topic has nothing to do with the two)

8. I've done that
in the country, at night, a guy in front of me weaving across the yellow line. I figured as soon as we got to town in a few miles that guy was gonna kill someone. I called the cops and they got him.
