I'm LMAO, Fred Phelp's daughter just e-mailed me!
Oh yeah, Phelps himself was too chicken to do so, and got his inbred daughter Mrgie to write me, after I took him to task on his rejoicing over all the Swedes and Americans who died in the tsunami.

Here's her response:

Hello Crybaby.

Thanks for writing. See also www.godhatesfags.com and www.hatemongers.com.

Meanwhile, since these tsunamis are just a warm up – you might want to polish on your thesis a little. Because somehow I don’t think God is going to be too impressed with your little fit.

Because you will stand before God, probably pretty soon at the rate things are going on this evil planet. And you will be held to account for your words and deeds.

So since eternity is at stake, perhaps you could put a little more effort into the presentation.

Meanwhile we’ve seen too many impulsive self-indulgent ignorant people cuss and fuss to even be remotely moved by your carrying on.

So get over yourself, crack a Bible (starting with Amos 3:6), and fear God and keep His commandments. That’s your duty, and no amount of cyber-squalling will take that away.

-Margie Phelps

What a family of LOSERS.

(1) The New Jerusalem Bible, Doubleday Publishing, 1989. This is the fun part about organized religion. So many people have translated the original texts in so many ways, no two versions are alike. Then there's the validity of the "original" text to consider...

Which reminds me: Michael Powell of the FCC wants to restore dignity in the media. While this is overall a good thing, why not look up Ezekiel 23: 1-27 and ask just how far back Mr. Powell should go. :-) Preferably from the New International Version, as the King James Version has some unintelligable censorship in that passage. Which is ironic, as some of the KJV's passages seem less fettered with a political agenda and speak of the truth (e.g. greed and unruly selfishness being the cause of a city's demise rather than a purported orgy)! And Genesis 19:31-36 is good for a chuckle too.

who spoke out so eloquently about what should happen to war criminals.

Do these people fucking bother to read the Bible? Nevermind, I know the answer to that one....but, write back to her and tell her to try and grasp the implications of this one:

"Hear this word, you cows of Bashan who are on Mount Samaria, who oppress the poor, who crush the needy, who say to their husbands, "Bring something to drink!" The Lord God has sworn by his holiness: The time is surely coming upon you, when they shall take you away with hooks, even the last of you with fishhooks. Through breaches in the wall you shall leave, each one straight ahead; and you shall be flung out into Harmon,"

Amos 4.1-4.3

...try to have a little sympathy for them as the wounded animals they are:

http://www.webpan.com/dsinclair/antigay.html

Their trumpet has only one note, and they have tried and failed to blow it louder and louder to compensate. They can't really hurt anyone anymore, not much, and have to try to make others feel their pain one on one. Remember, their patriarch worked hard to keep them beaten down; all he allowed their self-esteem was the notion that they were, at least, better than homosexuals. It's all they believe they will ever have.

No, the most they seem able to do these days is to continue to leak low-grade poisons into the environment. Think of their little compound as a toxic waste dump, in which the population is slowly lost through attrition.

We are fortunate, more or less, that their pathology prevents their joining forces with the GOP, their natural allies. They are mad dogs that bite every hand, even those that would feed them.

All those lawyers in one family makes me wonder where they went to law school. Do you have any information on that?

In Virginia, the law is still on the books that you don't have to go to law school or even college to qualify to take the Bar exam. All you have to do is to apprentice yourself to a practicing attorney for a certain number of years - I think it's 4 - and then you can sit for the exam.

I don't know anyone who's actually done this - it's just an old law that's still on the books. But, I wonder if this odd family has done something like this.

I live in Kansas and I have never heard of anyone having a license to practice law without going to school.

That link would probably say. I just skimmed it. But it appears to be a fairly extensive bio.

81. Hah! Fred named one of his sons after a Biblical "FAG"!
7. Jonathon Phelps: lawyer; 4th son; 34 years old; WBC member. Paulette Phelps (Ossiander): wife of Jonathon; 33 years old; high school graduate; WBC member.

1 Samuel 18

1 And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.

2 And Saul took him that day and would let him go home no more to his father's house.

3 Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul.

Mark Phelps feels nauseated whenever he remembers that night. He was hit over 60 times and his brother, Nate, over 200 with a mattock handle. Nate went into shock. Mark didn't. A boy who became a compulsive counter to handle the stress, Mark counted every stroke. His and Nate's. While their father screamed obscenities and his brother screamed in pain. Every 20 strokes, their mother wiped their faces off in the tub. Nate passed out anyway. That was Christmas Day.

Yes, that's the article. It's very, very illuminating. These people are not "Christians" in any sense of the word. The tragedy is that the children are inoculated in the hate and homophobia...and have to live with the abuse.

41. You're welcome
I live an hour from Topeka and am fairly familiar with Phelps. He is repulsive.

I am as critical of the media today as any good thinker should be, but I do have to give them some credit when it comes to Phelps. They rarely cover him anymore. The best way to fight him back is to ignore him. But this also makes it hard to find info on him.

42. Now Phelps' inbred SON has e-mailed me!
Edited on Sat Jan-01-05 03:27 PM by Archae
Anyone get the feeling these clown school rejects would be first in line re-crucifying Jesus?

Dear Rearend-for-brains Ross:

Your quarrel is with God. God is the one that controls tsunami as well as all other natural things in this world. And that pursuant to the "counsel of his own will." (Ephesians 1:11). Daniel 4:35: "And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?"

For examples, see:

Genesis 1: verse 3 "And God said, Let there be light: and there was light."

Genesis 1: verse 7 "And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so."

Genesis 1:11: "And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so."

David referring to these genesis events says: (Psalm 33: verse 9) "For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast."

And there is precedent for this tsunami events being at the hand of God. See Genesis 6:17: "And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die." Genesis 7:11-12: ¶ "In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights."

And do I need to detail you all the plagues he brought upon Egypt, at Exodus 9:23-26 and Exodus 10:21-23?

To quote from Arthur Pink’s book "The Sovereignty of God:" "The above examples are by no means isolated cases. At God’s decree fire and brimstone descended from heaven and the cities of the Plain were destroyed, and a fertile valley was converted into a loathsome sea of death . At his bidding the waters of the Red Sea parted asunder so that the Israelites passed over dry shod, and at His word they rolled back again and destroyed the Egyptians who were pursuing them. A word from Him, and the earth opened her mouth and Korah and his rebellious company were swallowed up. . . ."

And, of course the Lord Jesus Christ commanded the wind to cease, "and there was a great calm" (Mark 4:39). See, also Amos 4: verse 7-10.

The Bible clearly teaches that the tsunami is under the sovereign control of God.

So the real question for you is, why did God kill more than 150,000 living near the Indian Ocean?

Amos 3:6 "Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?"

We say God did it on the basis of his vengeance towards the wicked. We say 150,000 plus entered hell since last x-mas around the Indian ocean at the hand of God via tsunami. Romans 1:18: "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness." You make the case otherwise or stop running your deceitful mouth.

We say thank God for tsunami. Ps 58:10: "The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked." If you don’t similarly thank God and refresh yourself in the demonstration of God’s vengeance you testify to your reprobation. You see butt-brain, these glorious events in the last week are signs of the final judgment of God on this evil world. Revelation 16:18: "And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great."

Now remove head from sphincter and read the Bible. We’ve given you some aides at www.godhatesfags.com and www.godhatesamerica.com at no charge to your smelly backside.

That’s all donkey.

Jonathan B. Phelps

43. Can anybody tell me if these devils do anything else in that hell-hole of
a church of theirs beside hate gay people? What is the fucking deal with these people traveling all over the God-damned country to gay funerals and holding up signs that say "God hates fags"? Who is this God of theirs that hates anybody?

Is anybody here familiar with this "church" in Kansas? Are there other evil fuckers that belong to this thing beside this family from the one-branched tree? When this trailer trash is running around using God's name to promote their hate, people ought to get up in their faces and intimidate their sorry asses out of town. The very idea of confronting a grieving family as they do is beyond any form of human decency.

Do you think maybe they just drive me a little nuts?

48. I'm betting that they are the type of people
that thrive on attention, negative or otherwise. I think the best thing to do is let them hate and fester in their little hole in the wall and that way they may finally be consumed by their own hatred. Such people really don't like themselves and I'll bet their hatred of gays has to do with some serious self loathing due to their own homosexual thoughts.

50. No. the Phelps family sole crusade in life is to hate "fags"
They go all over the country to picket various events related to gay and lesbian people. I've had the chance to see them twice...at the Gay and Lesbian March on Washington in 1993 (replete with "God Hate Fags" signs) and here in Chicago a few years ago when a Episcopalian minster was performing gay and lesbian marriages.

They were a BIT outnumbered at the March in 1993 (one million gay people vs their motley crew) and several thousands of gay people protesting their visit to Chicago. It was very inspiring to see us united against them.

57. I saw the pigs in SF in 1991.
They were protesting at Randy Shutz's funeral.

1500 of homos should up and kicked his sorry ass. They stayed for less than 2 minutes.

They ran like little chicken shits when the SFPD told them to basically "get the fuck out of town, cuz we don't care what happens to you".

Freddie and his hogs ran like hell towards their van (I spoke to this HOT cop later). Fred tried to jump into the back of what he thought was their rented van and it was a SFPD van. The cops grabbed his ass by the collar threw him out. They hauled ass outta town.

Fucking cowards.

A couple of them showed up at Gay Pride in 1996 and police told them, they could have a special place to stand. The cops tipped off some gay activist and they erected an "cage" made of cardboard around them that said "Do not feed the animals". After a couple of hours, people were getting fed up with Freddie's pals and the cops said, "you either leave now in once piece or leave via the hospital". They of course split.

59. I love it when these people throw around words like eternity
It just shows what little grasp they have for abstract concepts. Somebody on DU posted one of their flyers that said "Matthew Shepard: Six years in Hell!" Gosh they really hate Shepard. So much so that they are counting down his eternal damnation. Concepts like 'eternal' can not be measured in increments of time you fucking dumbass, bigoted, devils. The Christ I was brought up on was all about love and compassion. The Phelps know nothing of Christ they are indeed losers.

That is bad when the Bush junta is to liberal for your taste. These people are in a category all on their own, there is yet to be an apt description of the hatred, bigoted death mongering that these people represent. They may be the purest representation of evil on the planet.

69. Does Westboro Baptist even OWN a New Testament?
They seem to know the Old Testament inside out, but who's even heard of Phelps quoting the New Testament?

Phelps is like Alex in A Clockwork Orange when he found the Bible in prison. "I didn't so much like the latter part of the book, which was all preachy talking rather than fighting and the old in-out."

Thinking of Phelps brings forth that line out of Clockwork: "Seek not to be like evil men. Nor desire to be with them, for their minds study of robberies and their lips speak deceit."

80. They may be marginal but they still hurt
Several years ago, I was at a huge gay rights march in Washington and his people were there shouting, taunting, holding high their posters about god hating fags and Matthew Shepard burns in hell. Their hatred was just so pure and so intense, I felt like they sucked all goodness and life out of all the air around them. I actually felt winded.
Fortunately, I was marching between two very nice guys, who I will love for the rest of my life, who began, in fantastically loud voices, to counter their evilness by shouting back that God is Love!
They put their arms around me and returned love and oxygen and life back into the air around me.
Thank you to those lovely men.

82. "Because you will stand before God
probably pretty soon at the rate things are going on this evil planet. And you will be held to account for your words and deeds."

Indeed, Ms. Phelps, you might want to take a second look at that paragraph, then take a look in the mirror. For you and your hateful, hatemongering, hate-filled, bigoted, smug, self-righteous, holier-than-thou, ignorant, arrogant, mean-spirited, satanic family, indeed your whole kind, will be judged accordingly. And I'd also suggest that YOU be the one to crack open a Bible and actually read it this time. You and your kind are an absolute disgrace to Christianity. Jesus wouldn't know you if you stood right in front of him.
