What words/phrases from your youth are now obsolete? Want to make a kid look at you funny? Mention "VHF" and "UHF" channels. Make them run away and leave the funny old person alone!

(my senior by more than a dozen years) booted his entire album and 8-track collection off on me when he thought he was through with them. Mention to anyone under the age of 20 that you have Quadrophenia on 8-track and they'll ask you what stage you're in and if it's treatable.

* Many DVD images were taken from Laserdisc images instead of the archived master tapes/films. * Many DVD movies are in pan'n'scan whereas Laserdisc was almost always widescreen. * Many movies on laserdisc are not and may never be on DVD (Bedazzled (1967), forget the awful 2000 remake)

Early childhood memory: My granddad was a preacher, and my grandmother would spend Saturday night preparing the church program for the next day - cranking out the mimeograph copies when she was finished typing it.
