My employer just cut my hours in half
I really needed the pay to make ends meet.
It isn't that I can't find other per diem work, as I can, but it might take me a month to do so.
Meanwhile, I have limited funds to keep things going.
Until I sold my business a couple years ago I wasn't in such an uncomfortable position. Now, I have to scrape for a living. I'm not used to it. But, this doesn't excuse my boss from not even bothering to give notice or severance pay. Do you think that was right not to give severance, just to tell me today he is cutting my hours in half? Also, he deducted from my pay for New Year's Eve for leaving two hours early to be with my daughter. He is a very avaracious person in my opinion.
Very worried what to do next.

1. *hugs* It is going around. Only the very rich in this country are
feeling safe and secure these days.

I hope you can find another job, and in a hurry!

3. Soon, everyone will be working
two part time jobs. They'll not be any full time jobs, nor benefits.

4. Since the guy just cut my time in half
He will lose because I will only give half of my attention. You don't think I will put my full attention in to half time do you?
What I monetarily brought in before is now lost to him. I won't suggest anything to clients that would in any way further his venture so he just F himself. In additon, I have a business card to give to the more discriminating. So, he chose the wrong professional to play with.

5. I think per diem workers have even less rights than other workers,

who don't have enough as it is. Probably less respect too. (I've done contract work before, and I was informed via phone one day that the co. was not going to do this particular work anymore so that was it.)

My sympathies to you. I've been looking for work for close to a year and a half.
