Me I could never do it. Talking is not my strength. and I'd be too nervous besides I don't think I could ever think of anything good smart or cleaver to say.

1. I have. And did it regularly until I got a real job.
Real job required me to leave the radio alone during working hours.

2. I called Mike Malloy the night before Christmas Eve.
He let me sing my song parody, "Rushie The Rude Right-Winger," to the melody of "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer." Malloy loved it, too!

3. Way back when
Edited on Fri Jan-07-05 11:56 PM by sally343434
Way back, maybe ten years, ABC Radio syndicated Jim Hightower and I used to call and talk to him from time to time. Then they had a syndicated show with Bernie Ward, and we got to chat each and every Saturday until they cancelled his show. (Bernie's still on every night with his local show on KGO AM 810 in SF. Be sure to check out his excellent "God Talk" early Sunday mornings. He has taught theology and was a Franciscan priest. It's a treat to hear him put fundies in their place!)

7. I encourage everyone to call in as much as possible!!!!!
.........I am the regular conspiracy theorist on my local RW rags!!!!......I avoid opinion and focus on statistics and facts.....For those not used to public speaking just take a deep breath, speak in monotones and a deliberative manner.....Lose the shyness!!!!......Not all DJs' will hang up on you.....We need the progressive voice.....take advantage of any opportunity available!!!

9. I called Larry King's show back in the eighties
I played "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" on my distorted electric guitar. He didn't know what instrument it was, and after his engineer told him, he said, "Played by an electrician."

He thought I sucked!

11. I called Ed Schultz once when I was stuck in traffic
It was right after the election and I had something really important to say, but I was placed on hold for more than 30 minutes. After what seemed like his 40th commercial break, I hung up.
Fighting traffic in Miami is bad enough without having to worry about surpassing my cell phone minute limit for the month.
