3. Assuming you have Windows XP
This is an immense help.

Black Viper is a computer gamer...No one knows better how to eliminate unwanted services and processes.
He defines which ones are essential and which are not.

http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm

I think he has instructions for Win ME too, if you look.

6. wait a minute
is it iexplore.exe or iexplorer.exe?

If it is iexplore.exe then it is probably not harmful. What I suggest is do a search for the file, so you can see the exact location.

The normal location of the file is C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe... If it is not there, then definately something is wrong.

Let us know how it turns out for you :)

8. But how do I clean out my Task Mgr?
Can removing Spyware empty it? I just ran Adware successfully and removed 18 files. My Task Mgr still have 40+ running processes taht I CANT remove.
I'm a tech-moron with little time, money and patience for this shit.
Has anyone ever had this Task Mgr/running processes problem?

9. Some processes are necessary.
I have about 40 running processes at any given time.

Perhaps you should list the processes and we can tell you which ones are optional.

11. well
If you have a virus/spyware, once you remove it then it won't be running as a process.

If you have indeed have this iexplorer thing try to remove it as I posted. It will then de gone from the task mgr...

I am not a geek myself (more like a tech-morron) but I what I did last time when I had 34 running processes was to google every single one of them and find what it does. Some are there for a reason and some are not... It might be time consuming but if you want your machine speed up, then do it. Nothing to be affraid of...

12. Click on start
then click on settings, then click on taskbar/start menu then remove the programs you don't want on the task bar.

I once bought a computer from Compaq, and soon I was forced to the conclusion that the company was just another willing servant of Evil.

15. Go here

http://www.blackviper.com/

Look for Win XP Services configuration. It will tell you what services you can turn off.
Made a noticeable improvement in my performance.
