Did you think it was one of the better movies?

1. Of this year? Oh hell yeah.
That and "Eternal Sunshine" were the best movies I saw this year, by far.

2. Saw it Friday and also thoroughly enjoyed it
Paul Giamatti is rapidly becoming one of the few actors whose name alone will draw me in.

5. I agree it was a good flick. Made me terrifically uncomfortable
though. People around me were laughing as if it were slapstick. But for me, the blend of "The Out of Towners" with "Days of Wine and Roses" was unsettling. Due in no small part to my own er, relationship, with alcohol I'm sure.

9. that one dinner scene with all 4 of them
where they drank SO much wine made ME feel drunk while watching it. and you could totally feel the desperation and welling upsetness of the character thinking about his ex Victoria.

10. Question: what do you all think the title 'Sideways' meant?
we all had a big discussion afterward about the meaning of that title for the movie. any thoughts?

12. I think it meant these guys weren't moving forward.
There was hope for Giamatti at the end, though. None for Haden-Church. That marriage was going to last 10 minutes.

11. Well-written and well-acted.
Giamatti and Virginia Madsen, revealing themselves while talking about wine - great stuff. Thomas Haden Church - getting what's coming to him - hilarious. A documentary feel because the locations were real - very few names even changed. A must see.

16. I also loved it - just saw it last week...
I thought it was great, and my favorite scene was where he went to get the wallet from the waitress's house - it still makes me laugh - she was using HIM too.
