6. I like to distinguish between the Blue Nation and the Red Nation
People in Las Vegas have much more in common culturally and politically with coastal California, while Riverside County, California has more in common with the Florida panhandle.

I live in Austin, a Blue communitty in a heavily Red State. My precinct is even bluer.

South Florida is more in tune with NY or Coastal California than the rest of the state.

y tenemos poquitos de la cultura hispanica: el Mercado de la Raza en la calle Beretania al centro de Honolulu, un restaurante mexicano que le ofrece pozole a los fines de semana, y el "Hawaii Hispanic News" (!verdad!)

18. I'd like to agree with that, but
I live in a state in which the Legislature has only 7 Democratic senators (out of 35) and 13 Democratic representatives (out of 70). Just 20% of our legislators are Democrats. It's red here, through and through, and I've never felt is more acutely than I do now.
