Poll question: Prince Harry wearing a Nazi costume to a party - bad?
I'm not sure what was going through this kid's head, but maybe people are overreacting??? Is it really bad to go to a costume party as a Nazi?

are figureheads for the government. That was fucked up.

On edit: the costume wearing, not your post.

3. Actually, its the type of thing that has to stay at the party
Halloween costumes often run to horrific taste, and if you are at the party, you are in on the joke.

But if you are a public figure, and are going to end up in the papers, you know someone is going to be offended EVEN IF they know it is a costume party.

The last costume party I went to was in college, and there were at least three Klinghoffers in wheelchairs. Sick? You bet. Anyone hurt? Not in that ill crowd of boozers.

8. Apparently the whole concept of the party was weird
According to another DUer people were to dress as

""Colonials and Natives" held at Meade's Equestrian Center.

7. Given his family's history
I suppose I'm in no position to pronounce wearing such costumes as off limits for all people under all circumstances.

But as a costume for a rich git at a rich gits party? A rich git with family ties to the SS? Reeks of depraved decadence imo.

Now, if he did it as an act of youthful rebellion ..... sticking it to his elders about just what exactly his royal pedigree included ...... I would say that was a different story.

12. Speaking of which
Any chance that the kid wants out from the role he has to play?

Too scared to express it and/or unwilling to be disinherited but willing on some level to risk a form of ostracism?

Yeah, psychobabble, I know. :)

10. Don't Imagine Grandma and Grandpa Were Too Pleased
In view of the fact that both Elizabeth and her macho-fool husband Phillip served loyally in WW2 (it's the only thing about them that makes them tolerable), I'd think.

Wonder whether Harry knows London (where his grandmother was living at the time) was bombed for 57 straight nights, from September to October 1940, by the Luftwaffe -- averaging over 200 JU-88 bombers per night. Thousands of civilians killed.

And there are so many other reasons, so many other dead.

Disgusting. Just disgusting.

11. Here in New Jersey, a postal worker went postal a few years back and
barged into his boss's house after she had fired him that day. He had an enormous curved sword-saber thing & a gun, and he shot the boyfriend and then unleashed a horrific death on the poor woman using the saber thing. Then he shot himself.

Holloween rolled around, my friend's boyfriend turned up in a bar wearing a postal uniform with a saber-swordy thing on his belt.

Some with a sick sense of humor found it funny, those who were sober when he arrived were none too impressed.

15. common decency has relegated that uniform to the graveyard of
history and accorded it all the hatred and disgust it deserves. He made a conscious decision, this wanker knowing that paparazzi would be coming up the toilet drain to take his picture and now he's 'sorry'.

Anti-semitism and pro-Nazi sentiment are a marker of his 'class'. There are documents hidden in storage with seals on them that would bring down the ruling class in England if they were ever seen.

He is a surly useless little bastard and I agree with that debrets guy. He showed immaculate immaturity and that's not forgivable.

As bush shames us all with his shit, so does this kid shame his country with his. The bush twins are sluts and so is he.

16. Of course he is useless
His only job is to not make people ashamed of the royal family.

That means he can't indulge in a shocking behavior even at a costume party.

14. I can't understand why any of these royal twits are so famous.
My boss said this about George W. Bush, "Without his family connections, he would have trouble holding a job at a gas station..."

The Royal Twits are no different than that really.

What a waste of resources. Inheritance sucks.

18. The Nazi did not kill the Jews....(read on please!)
It was Hitler, certain members of his command, and the SS that were able to brainwash people into do this. I am sure some Nazis did it willingly, but if you talk to a Holocaust survivors, they speak of Nazis who helped them and took big risks for the Jews. The survivor I know, dose not hate the Nazis which many might expect, but realizes that they were doing what they were told. I think people need to get over the fact that the Nazis killed so many and put it where it belongs, in history. It is like the Confederate flag issue. You know he did not mean to offend any one, and he is not a Nazi. Are World War II reenactors Nazis for dressing up like them? I don't think so.
