I pretty much have all my questions written down. But I thought I might throw this out to the DU think tank and get some response. I imagine I could get two or three that would be better questions.

3. Why debate with Boxer and then not vote with her? Just being gallant?

7. In no order....
1. Cities have trouble raising taxes without losing high income citizens. If they take away services, the citizens are just as likely to leave. How will our schools get reformed in this kind of economic climate?

2. Farm subsidies were created for the small American farmer. As corporations take over control of more and more farms, hasn't the bulk of farm subsidies become corporate welfare?

3. This past fall, you won all but seven counties against Alan Keyes. Why do you think you lost those seven counties?

4. Everyone is talking about the future of Barack Obama. Are there any elected offices in Illinois that you couldn't see yourself running for? Mayor of Chicago? Governor of Illinois?

5. This election season there were many problems with the electronic voting machines. Do you think problems can be solved from a federal level or state by state?

6. I have read many places that you are the 99th ranking Senator. How did the Senator with the highest victory margin get the 99th ranking?

7. What are your thoughts on the President's recent idea to reform Social Security?

8. During a "town hall" this week, President Bush said that most black men don't live long enough to enjoy the benefits of social security. What is your reaction to that statement?

9. What are three goals you have for your next six years in the Senate?

10. What can Democrats do to ensure a take back of the House and the Senate in '06?

The event is hosted by Mayor Daley of Chicago. It's an interfaith prayer breakfast. My college newspaper has been in contact with Obama's people about having an interview, but they aren't 100% positive. It will be more of a matter of finding Obama's people before or after the thing starts and making sure the Senator has five or ten minutes. I'll be happy just to go to the breakfast. I had to get press clearance to do so and there will be free good and lots of other great Chicago Democrats. I'm pumped.

I'd love to hear of what you think of my questions. I haven't interviewed many people before.

5. Ask Obama how we can overcome the myth perpetrated by
the right-wing for the past 30 years that liberals are godless freaks who don't care about family.

6. Ask him his thoughts on election reform. BBV, but other
types as well, like these:

Save our country one town, county, and state at a time!
