Well, that was weird

I was sitting down for my afternoon tea at the coffe place I haunt. And a guy comes over and says "excuse me...who do you write for?" He was the sound guy from the show I went to there last night. I guess he saw me interview the headliner. So I told him who I was and all. And we had a breif conversation about media coverage of arts and I told him who to call in town.
Then.... he stands there. So I talked a bit more, when I finish...he still standing there. This happened like three times. He just didn't get when the conversation was over or something.
So it got to a point where I wrapped up again and began to look at the newspaper - ignoring him. He stood there for like five seconds before he left. What the fuck was that about?

I felt like throwing out a Billy Bob Thorton line and saying "What the fuck do YOU want? Your pecker sucked?"

I felt like a dink for looking at the paper to make him get the hint. BUt I JUST WANTED TO READ JOHN FERRY'S FUCKING COLUMN

He probably really was interested in talking to you about what you do, but he is probably just a bad conversationalist. He was hoping you would talk more.

My husband has a guitar student who periodically zones out in mid-lesson. The only clue he has that there's something wrong is the kid's unresponsiveness. He doesn't pass out, fall to the floor, drool, or anything at all except exit reality, then slowly come back in again. It's very odd.
