Okay. I Admit It... I Loved The Movie "50 First Dates"
Edited on Fri Jan-14-05 10:52 PM by arwalden
One of the sweetest movies I've seen in a long time. Tease me if you like... I don't mind admitting that it made me a little verklempt. I'm not even a big Adam Sandler fan (I mean he's okay, but he's not all that) and still I was totally charmed by this movie. Funny, heartbreaking, and heartwarming all at once.

Definitely a date movie. A chick-flick. Go rent it.

-- Allen

Edit: PS..... It's got a GREAT soundtrack too.

1. I don't have a problem with that.
"Loved" it...maybe not...but I really liked it, which is major for me when Adam Sandler's involved.

I did think it was a good movie. Great chick flick.

2. I won't tease you . .
Hell, I liked it. I'm not a huge Drew Barrymore fan, but I liked her in that.

The scene with her chasing his buddy down with the baseball bat was hysterical :)

3. I loved it too.
It was so sweet. I cried (I won't spoiler it) so PM me if you want to know what part.

I love Drew.

I say the movie with my man and we both loved it.

4. The ending was so wonderful--definitely less silly than I thought.

I resisted seeing it for a long time because I thought "gee, Dory as a human!"

But they dealt with it quite well. The picture of the egghead! And at the end, I teared up, which is rare. Very sweet.

I think this and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind make such powerful statements about the nature of love.

Rob Schneider and the assistant woman were too silly for me, but it really was a cute film.

8. Lookin' good, lookin' good.....
I was quite glad to see Sean again, as not a hobbit. Made me smile a lot...he's kind of underrated as an actor I think.

Awww, it was so sweet what her family did for her every day!

7. Admit away-- my partner and I avoid Adam Sandler movies
like the plague, but his cousin talked us into renting it--and we loved it--hell, I even laughed a Rob Schneider.

Plus-- Drew gets free passes from us after Ever After

Ever After--albeit a chick flick--is one of the most satisfying movies done-- doesn't try and change the world--but delivers on ever level.

9. I resisted that for a long time too.
But I have to say that I've taken a liking to Drew Barrymore's romantic films. She was absolutely luminous in The Wedding Singer (that movie was HILARIOUS, especially when Adam Sandler sings "Love Bites"). Also liked Never Been Kissed, 50 First Dates....so I'm considering the others now.... have heard good things about Ever After, have to check it out.
