Big corporations can rot in hell... first CoolEdit and now DVanced convert
CoolEdit was $59 from its own company. Adobe bought it. Now sells it as Adobe Audition for $299.

DVanced Converter (NTSC/PAL conversion). Was made by its own company for $100. FireStore bought them and sells it under the name "DV Standards Converter" for $300.

Anyone who supports this sort of activity should be thrown in jail forever, though I'm straining not to say anything more apropos...

1. But you're missing the point. The big corporations are

providing efficiencies that the smaller companies couldn't otherwise have enjoyed.

Sure, you're now paying $300 for $100 software. But think of how much more streamlined the corporation you're supporting is. In aquiring smaller companies, they've merged scores of functions and eliminated hundreds or even thousands of jobs.

That's something I, at least, am willing to pay triple for.

edit -- dufusness.

2. I'm presuming you're being sarcastic.
:-)

Any repuke that claims small business are good says that for one thing: So the small businesses can invent and develop the products until BIG BROTHER takes over.

For Big Brother isn't the government. It's the larger business with their seemingly bottomless billfolds to buy everybody out with.

Yet those who vote for * stop thinking the moment * says "I'm for small businesses-". I wish people would get it. Big business is bad, period.

5. Ever since Gibson axed Studio Vision....
Those fuckers may make great guitars, but when they bought Opcode out and then stopped production of Studio Vision Pro they became first up against the wall...
