Can we stop putting the American flag EVERYWHERE????
I am watching the Steelers game and they all have the flag on their helmets, I see them on every other car...it's just ridiculous. Don't freepers know flag etiquette? You don't just stick an American flag magnet on your ass every time you feel patriotic.

They are rendering our flag irrelevant. Idiots.

2. During a recent football (soccer) tournament
the Cross of St. George (the flag of England) appeared everywhere over here; especially on cars. My brother-in-law suggested (a tad cynically) that one could judge the driving ability by the number of the wretched things flying for a vehicle. The day after we were kicked out most of them disappeared, many into the gutters.

It makes it a meaningless symbol to have such a plethora of flags. Most British government buildings only fly the flag on certain days (it's stipluated by an old Act of Parliament, I can't remember which days now).

4. did you see the segment on the Daily Show...
where some nutjob state senator from Florida wants to make it manditory for all Florida schools to have a flag in every classroom. When Samantha Bee brought up the fact that all classrooms already had flags, the guy said they should be 2X3. So they were interviewing a principal who was against the measure he said his flags were 1.5X2.5 or something like that and couldn't justify spending thousands to get new ones. It just showed the stupidity of these uber-patriots.

6. They are abusing the flag, unpatriotically using it for their propaganga.
It's the same with the 'Support our troops' ribbons, which, for many of those displaying them, have an implied meaning of 'support Bush's policies, otherwise you don't support our troops'.

To them I say, NOT!

Support Our Troops
Oppose Bush

That's the bumper sticker I want. Someone said to me that a sargeant in Irag told someone to forget all this about 'liberating Iraq', that that is not what the war is about. If this is true, who told the sargeant that? From the way the war is being conducted, it doesn't seem to be about liberating Iraq, but about oil, power, money, and to sell it, right-wing 'religion'. Well, I've read the words of Jesus and I didn't read anything about going around killing people, especially not in his name. I think many of these right-wingers have much in common with the Islamofascists that they hate so much.

I'm sick of these implied meanings, these sleazy, underhanded tactics. That's what freepers do, they use sleath propaganda, they don't come out and say what they mean, instead, they imply what they mean.

11. Yes! I'm all for that! Stop the madness.
I have one flag. It's a traditional flag, to be hung on a flagpole. I don't even fly it currently, because we seem to be oversaturated in flags.

I don't want flags on my rear end, I don't want my daughter to wear a flag prom dress, I don't need flag stickers, pencil erasers, posters, magnets, stationery, drinking glasses, coffee mugs, gift boxes, or anything else. I used to get my kids Old Navy flag t-shirts for 4th of July, and I don't even think I'll do that anymore.

12. I am a public school teacher and the flag in my classroom
has been adorned at its base with a pokeman character (which, I have no idea) by one of my younger students. One young fellow in another class told me that I was being disrespectful and unpatriotic. I told him that it was my freedom of expression. His response was that freedom of expression was good, but not in this manner, a line had to be drawn somewhere. My response was, "So you get to determine where that line is drawn?" He came back with, "You are so unpatriotic and do not care about our country." I ended the exchange at that point and continued with the lesson plan.

The following day I brought my old Marine Corps uniform to class, complete with two rows of ribbons and asked him to call me unpatriotic again. He did not. The "Oh sh-t" expression on his face was my reward.

The fact that I am an openly liberal Democrat in South Carolina, and a veteran, really messes with the freepers around me. I love it.

15. You hate America.

I have thought about this too. I am surprised how many flags are all over the place in my town.

It would take a foreign invader years just to get rid of the flags. It makes me wonder if we are too nationalistic. It's OK to be nationalistic, but it can be taken too far.

"A yearlong search to find who is responsible for sticking small American flags into piles of dog droppings in public parks in Germany has so far been fruitless."

The article goes on to make it sounds as if they don't know why they are seeking this conceptual artist, since there is no law against planting American flags in dog crap in Germany. Maybe they just want to give the artist a grant. :-)

The conservation movement is a breeding ground of communists
and other subversives. We intend to clean them out,
even if it means rounding up every birdwatcher in the country.
