An idea for new threads on DU lounge

We should start a series of history threads, about exciting events or biographies of interesting people. I am thinking of a few history threads I would like to write, and I am sure some of you have read something recently about someone or something from history you would like to share.
Then we can get together and have a lively debate.
The only rules will be no flames, and posters must be respectful.
It would be a good way to get away from the political warfare on GD, and everyone will learn a little too.
How about it?

I think your idea would be GREAT. It would take a few people to start regularly posting the topics and a handful reading and responding till it gets off the ground. Count me in. If you or someone else posts something like what you are suggesting feel free to PM me a link to your thread and I will read and post.

That sounds like fun.

3. I think the Meeting Room would be better, but it's a fine idea

There's already a History Book Club over there, as I recall. Lounge isn't as fast-moving as GD, but still pretty darn fast, especially when we go on our periodic yak frenzies. Anyway, something to think about.
