1. jchild just posted that she is on her last one.
I've never smoked, but my parents both did for at least 50 years. They did it, but it was an incredible struggle.

My mom has been lung cancer free for more than 8 years now, since the removal of the tumor on her lung.

Congrats rbnyc!

I wish my mom would quit already! I tell her that stopping smoking doesn't just save money, but her LIFE!

3. Not being a smoker also made your surgery and post-op *easier*, too.
Congratulations on being smoke-free! :)

6. Thanks.
It also made it easier to be in the hospital. I had a roommate for a while who went out to smoke about every 20 minutes. The doctors could never find her.

7. Ohhh, I bet they got ticked at that!!!!
I put a calculator to the amounts you posted; 30 cents a cig doesn't sound like much until you look at the big picture. :wow:

8. She had pneumonia too.
Crowded hospital. They put her in orthpaedics because they didn't have any other beds.
